Tiamat is a female Dragon and the only female among the Five Great Dragon Kings. She is a Blue Dragon known as the Chaos Karma Dragon, and is one of the few active Dragons in the series.[1]
Appearance
In her normal dragon form, Tiamat has the appearance of a pale blue Western Dragon with celestial blue scales.
In her human form, she has the appearance of a beautiful woman with straight and long beautiful pale blue hair, dark blue eyes, and a cold atmosphere that radiates from her beauty. She possesses an extremely powerful dragon aura within her body. She also wears a navy blue skirt, and her entire body is doused with the color of deep blue.
Personality
Tiamat hates Ddraig for losing her borrowed treasure, which was stolen and scattered.[1] She also shifts the blame onto the possessor of the Boosted Gear, Issei Hyoudou, saying they need to take responsibility for her treasure or she will burn them to death. Despite her anger towards Ddraig, Tiamat was very calm towards her meeting with Ddraig. She can also be mischievous as she came up with the idea that since Ddraig was unable to retrieve her lost treasure, Issei needs to take Ddraig's place in retrieving her lost treasure.
History
Tiamat is one of the Five Great Dragon Kings and one of the few legendary Dragons left who are still active since ancient times. She is known to be rampaging around the Human World on multiple occasions.[2] Before the start of the Great War and his final battle against Albion, Ddraig borrowed several of her treasures, but they were all stolen and scattered across the Human World after he was sealed. Since then she has been chasing after Ddraig and his possessors for a long time in order to retrieve her stolen treasure.[3]
At some point, Tiamat became a referee for Rating Games because of a debt she had owed to Ajuka Beelzebub, interfering in the event of unusual circumstances like the retirement system failing.[4]
Powers & Abilities
Immense Strength: As one of the Five Dragon Kings, more so the strongest among them, Tiamat has immense strength above that of the others.[1] According to the Familiar Master, Zatouji, who further attested that she wields Satan-Class powers; in addition to Ajuka and Shiva, two powerful beings and was acknowledged as being second to none among dragons. Even Ddraig; one of the Heavenly Dragons, cowered in fear of facing Tiamat who was in a state of anger about her lost treasure.
Fire Breath: As with many other Dragons, Tiamat has the ability to breathe fire.
Shapeshifting: Tiamat has the ability to shapeshift from her Dragon form into a human form.
Stealth Expert: Tiamat is very skilled in hiding her presence, as even Ddraig was unable to detect her.
Flight: Like most dragons, Tiamat is capable of flying.
Trivia
- Tiamat is a primordial sea and creator goddess from Babylonian mythology who is sometimes portrayed as a Dragon. Also, Tiamat's title, the Chaos Karma Dragon, is derived from the fact that the mythological Tiamat is a primordial deity formed from chaos. She is depicted as the consort/wife/mate of the god Abzu.
- Tiamat is the first female Dragon to appear in the series, not counting Ophis since she is genderless.
