Surtr Second is Sirzechs' Rook and the clone of the Norse Fire Giant: Surtr.
Appearance[]
Surtr is a large man who appears to be in his mid-thirties and is about two meters tall with orange hair that is spiked up. His body has a large build and emits a wild aura that surpasses that of Sairaorg Bael. His hands are large enough to fit an average-sized human head in their grips. He wears a thick coat that stands out and carries a bottle of sake with him.
Personality[]
Surtr has shown himself to be a very upbeat person with a habit of being outspoken. He regards himself with confidence because of his strength and gets angry when he is embarrassed, causing him to normally pick fights with people. As noted by MacGregor, Surtr can be reckless and hot headed, leading to careless mistakes, as he reckless used his full strength when fighting Jabberwocky without Ajuka's anti spell, that led him to get exhausted early during the Lucifer's peerage fight against Jabberwocky.
History[]
At one point, the Norse Gods made a clone of Surtr (the fire giant which appears in Norse mythology which is said to have lit the World Tree Yggdrasil on fire while bringing an army of giants with him), but after he went berserk because of his powers, the Norse Gods abandoned him because they couldn't control him. Sirzechs later made him into his servant by using his Mutation Rook piece. Since he is a clone, he was named the Second.
Powers & Abilities[]
Demonic Power: Surtr has all the powers and abilities common to Devils, including the power to cast spells.
Fire Manipulation: As a Fire Giant, Surtr can create flames from his body and even breath fire, which are stated to be powerful enough to burn anything if they are used seriously.
Giantification: Being a former Fire Giant, Surtr can transform himself into a giant as stated by MacGregor.
Immense Strength: As a Giant and a clone of the Fire Giant Surtr, Surtr has immense strength, he was so strong that Sirzechs required a Mutation piece to reincarnate Surtr into his servant. It was said by Mathers that if he was able to use his power properly, they could have defeated the anti-monster Jabberwocky faster after receiving the anti-spell at that time. Being further enhanced by a Mutation Rook Evil Piece, Surtr is powerful enough to be acknowledge as the Ultimate Rook.
Immense Durability: Known as the Ultimate Rook, Surtr has immense defenses and durability due to his Giant physiology which is further enhanced by a Mutation Rook Evil Piece.
Flight: Being a Devil, Surtr can fly using his wings.

Rook Piece (戦車の駒, Sensha no koma): Surtr Second was reincarnated using a Mutation Rook Piece, which grants him enhanced offense and defense.

- Befitting his nature as the original's clone, his full name could means "the second swarthy (black) one".
- Surtr in Norse mythology is a very powerful fire giant and chief of Muspelheim, described in the Prose Edda as wielding a flaming (or shining) sword and as battling the gods and killing Freyr during Ragnarök.
