Surtr is a Fire Giant from Norse mythology who joined the Azazel Cup as the leader of Team Black. He is said to be the protector of the burning land of Muspelheim in the far south of the Norse World.
Appearance[]
Surtr is described as a nearly twenty or thirty metres large fire giant (and that size seemed to only be after a height limiter).
Personality[]
Surtr has shown to be very calm as seen when his wife Sinmara was captured, yet he was also angered as he was wrapped in his own flames. Despite this, he was honorable as he praised Team Spear of the Heavenly Emperor for their efforts of harming his team and give them the full extent of his power and even shook hands with Cao Cao. He was also shown to be cautious as he chose to resign from the Azazel Cup as he believes his injuries would have the Asgardians take advantage of him.
History[]
In the past, it’s been said Surtr has lit the World Tree Yggdrasil on fire, while bringing an army of fire giants with him against the Asgardians and got married to his wife Sinmara. At some point, his clone Surtr Second was somehow created by the Norse Gods.
Powers & Abilities[]
Fire Manipulation: As the King of Muspell, Surtr can create and control very powerful and dangerous flames; erupting from his body, being strong enough to have lit the World Tree Yggdrasil on fire and burn God-class beings.[1] He can generate jet-black flames that burns all things to ashes and form them into Lævateinn. According to the Edda, he has the power to burn the world to nothing.[2]
Immense Strength: Surtr is among the strongest beings among the Norse Pantheon, aside from Thor and Fenrir, who are among the "Top 10 Strongest Beings". It is stated that his participation in the Azazel Cup caused many other God-class beings to drop-out midway thought the tournament.[1]
Equipment[]
Lævateinn: A legendary divine sword made of black flames and wielded by the Fire Giant Surtr. According to Shemhazai, Lævateinn has the power to burn everything to ashes. It could easily destroy the mist barrier created by the Longinus Dimension Lost, retiring powerful warriors like Heracles and Jeanne in the process.[2] Its mere activation was enough to burn and melt the surroundings, with the heat causing camera footage to be distorted and the Rating Game field required to be further strengthened so it wouldn't be destroyed.[2]

- Surtr (or Surtur) means "the swarthy (black) one".
- Surtr in Norse mythology is a very powerful fire giant and chief of Muspelheim, described in the Prose Edda as wielding a flaming (or shining) sword and as battling the gods and killing Freyr during Ragnarök.
