MacGregor Mathers (full name Samuel Liddell MacGregor Mathers) is Sirzechs' Bishop and one of the founders of the Magicians association: the Golden Dawn.
Appearance[]
MacGregor's appearance is that of a skinny man in his late twenties with sharp eyes and long and slightly wavy hair which is a mixture of black and blond. He is described as having a bewitching appearance due to the long slits of his eyes and his shallow smile.
He is known to wear a crimson robe with a distinguished design and has a limitless amount of creepy aura coming out of his body. His mannerisms are described as being elegant.
Personality[]
MacGregor appears to enjoy explaining things to others. He also seems to be somewhat sharp-tongue as shown by how he speaks about Surtr Second. Similar to other members of the Lucifer Team, MacGregor is very loyal to Sirzechs and is shown to be afraid of Grayfia.
History[]
MacGregor was one of the founders of the Hermetic Order of the Golden Dawn and is said to have compiled and translated a book about the 72 Pillars (Lemegeton). His various achievements have made him so famous that anyone involved with magic has heard about him, including the Church. At some point in time, he was reincarnated as a Devil by Sirzechs Lucifer.
Powers & Abilities[]
Demonic Power: MacGregor has all the powers and abilities common to Devils, including the power to cast spells.
Immense Magic Power: As a legendary magician, more so one who has consumed two Bishop pieces, he possesses extremely high magical abilities, which can augment his demonic and magic powers letting him use prohibited-classes of five magic types.
Master Magician: As one of the founders of the Hermetic Order of the Golden Dawn, MacGregor is an immensely proficient Master Magician who is capable of using all kinds of magic and is an expert in all things related to magic, such as forbidden-techniques. MacGregor's skill and talent in magic is so great, that Sirzechs required 2 Bishop Evil pieces to reincarnate him into a Devil. He can use the prohibited-classes of these magic types such as:
- White Magic
- Black Magic
- Norse Magic
- Summoning Magic
- Fairy Magic
Flight: Being a Devil, MacGregor can use his wings to fly.
Equipment[]
Bishop Piece (僧侶の駒, Sōryo no koma): MacGregor was reincarnated using two Bishop Pieces, which grants him immense magic power, more so than a normal Bishop.

- MacGregor is the second historical character featured in the entire series, after Souji Okita (Members of the Khaos Brigade do not count, as they are descendants of legendary/mythological heroes).
