Hauteclere (オートクレール, Ōtokurēru) is one of the Holy Swords forged through the means of alchemy and Magic by those who reached the territory of God. It is the primary weapon of Irina Shidou, a Brave Saint who is the Ace of Michael, leader of Heaven.
Summary[]
According to legend, the first owner of Hauteclere was Oliver also known as Olivier de Vienne or Olivier de Gennes, who was the best friend of the Paladin of the Holy Roman Emperor Charlemagne, Roland.
In Volume 18, the sword was given to Irina by her father, Touji Shidou, as he stated that sword which is said to be only touchable by those with pure hearts. Due to its purification abilities, it was determined that Irina was the most suitable to wield it as her particles were enhanced after becoming a Brave Saint and due to her long friendship with Xenovia Quarta who wields Durandal, which is the blade of Oliver's best friend Roland.

It is described as blade of burnished steel, with a crystal embedded in a golden hilt.
Abilities[]
Hauteclere has all the common abilities of a Holy Sword, being able to generate an aura of Holy Power, which is lethal to Devils, Vampires, and other creatures of darkness. It has the unique ability of purification, which seems to indicate that it's especially effective against anything with negative aspects, to the point that a pure heart is needed to even pick up the sword. Hauteclare is potent enough to purge half the soul of the legendary Evil Dragon Yamata no Orochi from Ame no Murakumo no Tsurugi, thus also liberating Masaomi Yaegaki from its influence, though that was after it's power was amplified by Durandal and Ascalon.
