Teams

With the announcement of the Azazel Cup, various teams were formed to participate in the Cup, as 1045 teams competed in the tournament to determine the winner. Among them, some teams were famous due to being members of Team DxD or consisting of God-class beings.

Team Red Dragon Emperor of the Blazing Truth

Team Red Dragon Emperor of the Blazing Truth (「燚誠の赤龍帝」チームいっせいのせきりゅうていチーム, Issei no Sekiryūtei Chīmu) is the team created by the Red Dragon Emperor; Issei Hyoudou. It consists of members of his peerage and other individuals who have offered to fight alongside him. It is the most popular team in the Cup.

Team White Dragon Emperor of the Morning Star

Team White Dragon Emperor of the Morning Star (「明星の白龍皇」チームみょうじょうのはくりゅうこうチーム, Mi ~youjouno Hakuryuukou Chīmu) is the team created by the White Dragon Emperor; Vali Lucifer. It consists of members of his team. It is very popular due to Vali as he is known in the Underworld as the descendant of the Old Lucifer, him being Odin's adopted son and Issei Hyouodu's rival. The team is favored as one of the winning candidates.

Team Imperial Purpure

Team Imperial Purpure (「紫金の獅子王」チームインペリアル・パーピュア チーム, Inperiaru Pāpyua Chīmu) is the team created by the heir of the Bael Clan; Sairaorg Bael. It consists of members of his peerage as well as members of his younger half-brother's; Magdaran Bael's peerage. Seekvaira Agares joined the team after being eliminated in the preliminary round.

Team Slash/Dog

Team Slash/Dog (「刃狗」スラッシュ・ドッグ, Surasshu Doggu Chīmu) is the team created by the Grigori agent and leader of the covert ops Slash/Dog Team; Tobio Ikuse. It consists of members of the his Slash/Dog Team. The team has received support from the Japanese Gods. The team is praised for its teamwork as they defeated the teams of Ultimate-class Devils as they have been winning their preliminary matches smoothly and advanced to the main stage.

Team Trump Card of Heaven

Team Trump Card of Heaven (「天界の切り札」チームてんかい・の・トランプ・カード ・チーム, Tenkai no Toranpu Kādo Chīmu) is the team created by the Brave Saints Joker: Dulio Gesualdo. It consists of members of the Brave Saints, such as the Aces of the Four Great Seraphs. The team's coach and supervisor is Rudiger Rosenkreutz, the 7th ranked Rating Game player who is hailed as the Upsetting Sorcerer.

Team Spear of Heavenly Emperor

Team Spear of Heavenly Emperor (「天帝の槍」チームてんていのやりチーム, Tentei no Yari Chīmu) is the team created by Indra's current vanguard and leader of the Hero Faction; Cao Cao. It consists of members of the Hero Faction and Guan Yu; who was sent by Indra to watch over the Hero Faction.

Team Leisure of the Kings

Team Leisure of the Kings (「王たちの戯れ」チームおうたちのたわむれチーム, Ō-tachi no Tawamure Chīmu) is the team created by the King of Monsters; Typhon. It consists of young Greek and Norse Gods as well as the Dragon King; Midgardsormr and the Valkyries that serve the Chief Norse God. it is one of the teams that is favored to win the tournament.

Team Babel Belial

Team Babel Belial (「バベル・ベリアル」チーム, Baberu Beriaru Chīmu) is the team created by the Rating Game Champion; Diehauser Belial. It consists of members of his peerage. The team joined the middle of the tournament but managed to attain several victories, even defeating God-class opponents due to the Champion's knowledge of Rating Games and his superior tactics. In True Volume 2, the team defeated Team Black Satan of Darkness Dragon King, who was one of the favored candidates to win, by the Champion defeating the enemy King; the Grim Reaper Zeno.

Team Phoenix

Team Phoenix (不死鳥・チームフェニックス・チーム, Fenikkusu Chīmu) is the team created by the heir of the Phenex Clan; Ruval Phenex. It consists of members of his peerage as well other mythologies Phoenixes that he recruited into his team such as the mythical Bennu. Magnus Rose; a CIA agent and wielder of one of the 5 newly manifested Longinus; Unknown Dictator, was sent by his superiors to observe the tournament as he offered his abilities to Ruval in order to participate in the tournament, which Ruval accepted. After losing in the preliminary round, his younger brother; Riser Phenex also joined the team.

Team Vajra

Team Vajra (「ヴァジュラ」チーム, Vu~ajura Chīmu) is the team created by the Hindu God of War; Indra. It consists of the Four Heavenly Kings and other gods of Mount Meru that change depending on the match such as Indra's son Arjuna. Indra's participation in the tournament caused many God-class beings to abstain from the tournament as the team is one of the favored candidates to win the tournament. In True Volume 2, the team fought against Team Asura, lead by the Asuran God Mahabali, who wanted to get revenge on Indra for the death of his father. Though Team Asura put up good fight, Team Varja won as they advanced to the next round.

Team Black (「黒」チーム, Kuro Chīmu) is the team formed by the Norse Fire Giant; Surtr. It consists of other Norse Giants. Surtr's participation in the tournament caused many God-class beings to withdraw from the tournament.

Main Stage (Defeated Teams)

Team Asura

Team Asura (「アスラ」チーム, Asura Chīmu) is the team created by the Asura prince; Mahabali. It consists of other members of the Godly Asura Tribe. It was one of the favored candidates to win the tournament. Mahabali created the team in hopes of fighting against Indra during the tournament. During the preliminary round the team was undefeated until the team had a game against Team Black Satan of Darkness Dragon King, being defeated as Mahabali was overwhelmed by the Super Devil Balberith, being soundly defeated. Despite the loss, the team was able to advance to the main stage due to not losing any other matches. Reaching the main stage, the team had a Rating Game against Indra's Team Vajra. Mahabali fought fiercely against Indra, even succeeding in cutting off Indra's arm. Despite that, the team was defeated after Indra retired Mahabali by using his Varja to injure Mahabali with his lightning.

Team Shooting Star

Team Shooting Star (「シューティング・スター」チーム, Shūtingu Sutā Chīmu) is the team created by the Human Magician; Shooting Star, who is the possessor of one of the 5 newly manifested Longinus; Star Buster Star Blaster. It is a mixed forced team from the Human World as it consists of a group of powerful people whose names are unknown to each faction. The team' wish after winning the Azazel Cup is to have "a lifestyle where you don't have to worry about food." A team specializing in offensive power, formed by Shooting Star recruiting people who were talented in each field of battle. Initially in the early stages of the tournament, they were suffered a lot of defeats due to Shooting Star being unable to control his power and his power exploding, which would result in their defeat. But during the mid-stage of the tournament, they became a darkhorse team after defeating several teams including those with God-class beings in them as they advanced to the main tournament. However, since there was no one backing the team after they participated in the main stage, they weren't given aftermatch care and their recovery wasn't completely done and the accumulated damage could not be eliminated before the main stage match. In the 2nd game of the 1st round of the main stage, the team fights against Sairaorg Bael's Team Imperial Purpure. Despite initially overwhelming Team Imperial Purpure, they were gradually pushed back as everyone on the team wasn't fighting in their best condition and because their "King"; Shooting Star was defeated by Sairaorg, they were defeated and eliminated from the tournament.

Team Rias Gremory

Team Rias Gremory (「リアス・グレモリー」チーム, Riasu Guremorī Chīmu) is the team created by the heiress of the Gremory Clan; Rias Gremory. It consists of member of her peerage along with several other people that she manged to scout and recruit; such as two Longinus possessors (Valerie Tepes and Lint Sellzen), the Ultimate Evil Dragon: Crom Cruach and the Limits of Humanity: Vasco Strada. In the preliminary round, the team had a match against Vali Lucifer's Team White Dragon Emperor of the Morning Star. Despite overwhelming Vali's team, Rias' team lost after she declared her own retirement due to reaching her limit while fighting Fenrir. During the main stage, the team fought against Issei's Team Red Dragon Emperor of the Blazing Truth. After a fierce battle, Rias was defeated by Issei, as the team was eliminated from the tournament and forced to drop out.

Team Black Satan of Darkness Dragon King

Team Black Satan of Darkness Dragon King (「ブラックサタン・オブ・ダークネス・ドラゴンキング」チーム, Burakku Satan Obu Dākunesu Doragon Kingu Chīmu) is the team that Hades created; as he had the High-class Grim Reaper Zeno act as its King, with the team consisting of Grim Reapers. While initially the team was getting continuously defeated, the team was bolstered by Hades' newly created artificial Devils such as Balberith, Verrine, Gressil and Sonneillon, as the team was able to defeat Mahabali's Team Asura; which was one of the candidates favored to win the the tournament. After that victory, the team also became a favored candidate to win the tournament as they advanced though the preliminary stage undefeated. During the main stage of the tournament, the team faced Diehauser Belial's Team Babel Belial, as the team was defeated due to being inexperienced and Balberith not fighting seriously as he imitated moves from Oppai Dragon, which left holes in the team's defense, allowing Diehauser to retire their King; Zeno as the team was forced to drop out of the tournament.

Team Journey to the West

Team Journey to the West  (「西遊記」チームさいゆうきチーム, Saiyūki Chīmu) is a team created by the first generation Sun Wukong, a character from the famous tale "Journey to the West". It consists of characters from the tale such as the original Zhu Bajie and original Sha Wujing along with the Jade Dragon; Yu-Long and Prince Nezha. During the main stage, the team fought against Vali Lucifer's Team White Dragon Emperor of the Morning Star, as the team was defeated and eliminated from the tournament after the current Journey to the West trio managed to corner the weakened Sun Wukong and defeat him.
